RENEW, Resources for the Education of Women, is a nonprofit providing a safe, online learning environment to help refugee and immigrant women in the U.S. improve their English skills for social integration, education, and economic security.
Refugee and immigrant women living in the U.S. can join without proof of residency or education. Basic literacy in a first language is preferred. Participants need a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer, and internet access.
No, RENEW’s classes are completely free for refugee and immigrant women.
You will practice English with fluent speakers, improve everyday language skills, understand American culture better, and enhance your educational and professional potential.
Yes, a certificate of completion is provided based on attendance.
We provide captioned or transcribed materials, handouts of slide decks, and use materials that can be enlarged for easier viewing.
You should know how to use the microphone function on Zoom. Training will be provided during orientation and in class.
Trolling or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the program. Please follow the online behavior guidelines provided.
